Now, x-rays can be taken as early as 9-10 months of age to evaluate the
hips of dogs. This early evaluation can help you determine whether to
breed your dog or, for those of you who do not wish to breed, what
alterations need to be made in your pet’s diet and daily routine to
decrease the likelihood of them developing canine hip dysplasia. |

monitored with a pulse oximeter (measures oxygen levels), EKG (measures
heart rate and any abnormal beats), defibrillator is available if
needed, an esophageal stethoscope (measures the force of the heat beat
for early detection of any problems), and a Dinamap blood pressure
monitor. |

…Our cardiology department has EKG
available for monitoring intensive care patients. Heart “halter”
devices are also available from an outside lab if your pet is required
to wear a heart monitor at home. Your pet’s EKG can be videotaped for
transmission over the internet or can be transmitted by phone for
immediate consultation. We also have interpretative EKG in house. |
