Ambulance Services

Coats Veterinary Hospital is pleased to offer a critical care ambulance service for our clients.  Our ambulance has been remodeled into an “Animalance” to specifically address the critical care medical needs of your pets.  Our “Animalance” is equipped with warm water pads for hypothermia, an EKG machine and defibrillator, laboratory including blood gas, fluid access and management, as well as a fully stocked pharmacy to handle any emergency.  Its purpose is twofold.  Firstly it is to reach critical patients as quickly as possible in order to stabilize them for transport to our hospital.  The second is to transport critical animals to the North Carolina State School of Veterinary Medicine on Raleigh, North Carolina for additional support or testing if needed.

Due to the cost of operation and the time involved with critical care emergencies, a deposit by debit or credit card must be received before any services can be rendered.

For ambulance service call our office at 252-407-1616.  This service is available for emergencies as well as routine house calls.  Click here for House Call information.

Note:  Hours of ambulance operation are variable.  Established clients have priority over non-established clients.
